its from the “old country” and its kind of rare i guess. at least around these parts. its must be a pretty arduous thing to make because the places that sell them “specialize” in them.

i got a bit of money from a friend who is encouraging to make her and my brother something awesome.
so i figured id start with a bakery classic, and a mexican classic
cream puffs and tres leches cake!
im so excited! ill be using a recipe from my better homes and gardens for the cream puffs. so basically all from scratch!
and the tres leches recipe is coming from my boyfriend’s mother’s cookbook. so you know it’ll be good! (they’re hispanic)
the tres leches traditionally has a meringue frosting. super excited to give meringue another try. im preparing to make macarons eventually and this gives me a bit of practice.
